We still have plenty of snow and grooming operations continue around much of the Moosehead Lake Region. The only real sign of spring is at road crossings. With very little traffic and the high cost of fuel, we have cut back on our grooming schedule. ITS 88 from Wilsons at the East Outlet around the back side of Squaw Mountain to the intersection with the Greenville Trail System was last groomed Sunday night (March 30). Do use caution as we have seen multiple moose and deer using the trails. Please, if you aren’t familiar with the lake, stay on the marked trails! With the warm days, many inlets and outlets are opening up very quickly.
The club trail through the ski mountain remains closed/ungroomed-ride at own risk.
Cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and beautiful nature viewing are all at your cottage door! Come enjoy this beautiful region! Give us a call - we have openings in our lakefront cabins with off-peak rates now in effect.
Attention Fishermen: New law has passed - The East Outlet opened January 1st and is now open all year for fly-fishing only! Plan ahead and make your reservations! Walk right out your cottage door over to the River for some of the best fly-fishing! For daily water releases, call 1-800-557-3569 or give us a call at 1-800-817-2549 to make your reservation!
Hunters: We have packages that range from lodging only to complete guided packages with meals. Plan ahead for deer and bird hunting this fall.
ATV Riding: New laws are in effect. You must be on marked ATV trails or have written landowner permission! Please respect the landowners. Club trails start at the end of our driveway. We have gas on-site for your convenience. TRAIL UPDATE: The new northbound trail to Rockwood and on to Jackman and Canada is completed! Make your reservations for spring. The ATV trails are closed at this time.
The Moosehead Lake Region is full of great family activities year round! Don’t miss the great events- Visit www.mooseheadlake.org for full calendar. The area offers hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing. You can’t beat the Moosehead air and scenery. A number of our cottages have working fireplaces-perfect for curling up relaxing or reading a good book! Visit Wilsons on Moosehead Lake-Open Year Round.
The perfect place to do everything…or nothing at all! Come see why folks say we have ‘Moosehead’s Million Dollar View’!

We've got happy campers here at Wilsons on Moosehead Lake. Check out this togue caught Sunday Feb. 25th, 2007 weighing in at 10 pounds and is 32 1/2 inches long. Of course, it was caught at an 'undisclosed location' on Moosehead Lake. |
