We have been busy spring-cleaning the cabins.  This is the time of year when we do improvements and get things in tiptop shape for the busy season.  It’s always a lot of work, but very rewarding the see the changes.  Katahdin Cottage is almost done with its facelift…check back soon for new photos.

We are also excited to announce that there is a local option in Greenville for Maine Whitewater Rafting with Northeast Guide Service.  They provide additional Outdoor Recreation options in the Moosehead Lake Region in Greenville. MOOSEHEAD LAKE ICE OUT WAS APRIL 26!!!!

May 1st marked the start of the open water fishing for Moosehead Lake and other bodies of water.  The water is warming up and fish activity is increasing. Moosehead Lake is now full. Water is being released from the East Outlet of the Kennebec River.  It is currently running at 3900 CFS.  The smelts have been running and locals have been enjoying themselves.  Scott was fortunate to get the kids out several times and they had a blast!  Small mouth bass fishing is also great down at Indian Pond.

The loons are back for the summer making their beautiful music!  Our waterfront is alive with mallards, black ducks, hooded and common mergansers, gulls and geese. Songbirds are showing up checking on the feeders.  Moose and deer are coming out of the woods.  These all make for great photos!

Leaves are beginning to bloom.  It’s refreshing to see the beautiful greens on the trees.  Daffodils, tulips and hyacinth are in bloom.  We’ll be mowing soon now!

Attention Fishermen: New law has passed - The East Outlet is now open all year for fly-fishing only!  Walk right out your cottage door over to the River for some of the best fly-fishing!  For daily water releases, call 1-800-557-3569 or give us a call at 1-800-817-2549 to make your reservation!
