Wilsons on Moosehead Lake reporting:

The water is heating up fast, however the fishing is still good if you know where to find it! We have new visitors and babies in tow daily in the cove and around the property as blossoms and wildlife explode. We have lots of projects we are excited to show all of you. Follow us on Facebook for the most up-to-date progress pictures on all the happenings here at the camps!

We have some new additions to our rental boats. We have added a junior kayak, more regular kayaks, and two stand up paddle boards. SUP (or stand up paddle boarding) is growing into one of the greatest water sports. This is a low impact cardio exercise that strengthens your entire body while improving your balance. SUPs are great on lakes and the kids have been enjoying learning how to use them here in our cove on Moosehead Lake. For more information, go to our Boat Rentals page.

Summer is upon us! However, with the rains comes water. With lots of water in the rivers the fish are still holding. The big fish are getting very selective; they have food everywhere. You just gotta figure out what they’re looking for. Early mornings and late evenings are the best bet at this point on the East Outlet of the Kennebec River. The bass fishing is heating up and we have been catching some big ones!

Looking to do some wildlife watching? Cruise around and look for moose, deer, and any other type of wildlife. The greener grass on the sides of the road pulls them out of the deep woods to where you can see them! Don’t forget your camera, there will be plenty of photo opportunities.

Worried about those back roads and getting lost? Leave the driving to our experienced Registered Maine Guides so you can literally sit back and enjoy the trip! Interested in setting up a guided fishing adventure chasing these big fish or a wildlife safari? Give us a call at 207-695-2549 today!

The East Outlet is open all year for fly-fishing only! Water is being released from the East Outlet of the Kennebec River and the flow is running at 2210 CFS. Walk right out your cottage door over to the River for some of the best fly-fishing! For daily water releases, call 1-800-557-3569 with CODE: 235137, visit H2O Line, or give us a call at 1-207-695-2549 to make your reservation!

We’ve also added another boat to our guide fleet to accommodate larger fishing groups!

We have added a pontoon boat to our guide fleet for amazing sunset tours or private lake cruises with an experienced Registered Maine Guide. No security deposit needed, and gas is included! Folks who aren’t comfortable with boating can truly enjoying sitting back, relaxing, taking in the scenery and views while leaving the driving to us! This new adventure is sure to make some incredible memories with guests and our Guide Staff. It has already seen many evening sunset cruises to area islands, and some “fun in the sun” days on Moosehead Lake with guests enjoying the water, hiking Mt. Kineo, and learning some history on the way. Book early for summer, so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore Moosehead!

We have expanded our guide business and the East Outlet Guide & Fly Shop has been a great compliment to the office. Now selling flies, leaders, clothing, coffee, snacks and more, along with gas & oil for snowmobiles, boats and ATVs! We are here to offer assistance for those who need a little helping hand.  Come see us and check it out.
